The Birdcage - Eve Chase

eve-chase

This is the second Eve Chase book I have read and again it was an enjoyable read. The story is set in the 1990’s and 2020’s and follows the lives of three sisters who have been estranged from each other for 20 years.

Split across two timelines, the story kicks off during the 1999 solar eclipse at an isolated cliffside estate, where three estranged half-sisters pose for their eccentric artist father’s masterpiece—while burying a dark secret in the shadows. Fast-forward twenty years: a reluctant winter reunion brings them back to the same crumbling house, only now an unseen watcher knows exactly what happened back then, and isn't about to let it stay buried.

Atmospheric, claustrophobic, and deliciously paced. If you love tangled sister dynamics, bohemian artistic backdrops, and past sins catching up with the present, this one hooks you early and doesn’t let go.

A good read, I may try a third of Eve's books as they are a good easy read when on a long journey! Thanks Eve...
