New hobby: Flight simming!

After much thinking and much curiosity, I've finally taken the decision and got into flight simming... I bought XPlane 12 for my Mac, and I got the best eBay deal ever and bought a Thrustmaster TCA Officer Pack yoke and levers.
I'm starting from the very very beginning, starting with a Cessna 172 Skyhawk. I want to understand the aeroplane and the software, and move on to using the GPS, plotting flights and using the autopilot.
The Cessna 172 Skyhawk fired up and ready for me to crash it! Several times, no doubt.
This is the best deal on eBay I’ve ever had. £55.00 for the pack, almost new. Love it.
